WHEN THE CLINTONS announced that they would be paying donors back for their generous parting gifts, there was some speculation that the couple might use part of their six-figure speaking fees or multimillion-dollar book advances to foot the bills. Sources close to the Clintons indicate that they decided to put the items on eBay, however, when they realized just how tacky so many of them were.
The items started appearing on the auction site as early as last Friday, in a lot identified only by the email address of the seller, swingerprez@hotchappaqua.com.
