Hymn shmym, I don't know what is next level up from "silly goose," but you know very well that you know plenty of people who say they're from Long Island, starting with the most gracious and learn├иd Celia Smith.
Well maybe when speaking to people who have never been. For those who have ranged from Jones Beach to Oyster Bay sat and watched the demolition at Islip and wondered why there is a Hauppauge, and a Patchogue specificity is critical.
That SUZANNE is there is familiar from previous notes from her. How lovely for both of you. Never yet been in the area, but the photos show it to be beyond beyond. perfection. I have something of a standing summer invitation to Bellingham which would turn me loose for exploring. Because of demands closer to home, I don't know if i'll be making the trip this year.
These islands unlike the long one are remote in a Mayberry sort of way. Bellingham is close to our newfound nemesis, British Columbia! They are also in Canada another dicey acquaintance.
I think I can imagine the Mayberry analogy. As to Newfound, Nemesis & Dicey, Attorneys-at-Law, aren't their offices be in the Maritimes? As in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Maritimes are the Seattle baseball team. There mascot is a moose not a dog. The University of Washington has a dog mascot, but it is a husky not a labrador. There's a lot of stuff to keep up with!
Give me a little time to adjust. I've grown inured to bombs in Kiev and Gaza this was totally unexpected!
You two are so cute together!
Brooklyn and Queens. Made to be.
Oh, I get it. Former L.I. here, watching and laughing from the east.
Al has his moments, but, to borrow from him, I'm inured.
To bombs I'm hoping.
I'd hope so as well, but can't be sure.
East of L.I. is pretty far east.
Ok, badly phrased, Wiseguy. NOW I laugh from the SW; previously laughED from the east in Suffolk on Lawn Guyland.
Celia, you're all over the map!
Yeah, in more ways than one, Al!
Something about hobgoblins and small ideas, roam on:-)
ЁЯСН
L.I. - L.R. it's some sort of code?
L.I. is Long Island, silly goose, and you know it. (Everyone else, L.I. - L.R. really is code: Listen intently, look relaxed.)
Who do you know who says they're from Long Island? Like the hymn says, "From the shores of Coney Island to the tip of Montauk Point".
Hymn shmym, I don't know what is next level up from "silly goose," but you know very well that you know plenty of people who say they're from Long Island, starting with the most gracious and learn├иd Celia Smith.
Thank you, L.R.!
But of course!
Well maybe when speaking to people who have never been. For those who have ranged from Jones Beach to Oyster Bay sat and watched the demolition at Islip and wondered why there is a Hauppauge, and a Patchogue specificity is critical.
Exactly. Anything you say. There, there, now.
Ah...so THAT explains it.
Harstine I:-)
I googled the island, but nothing gave me a clue as to your meaning. Some sort of code?
I have a place there and Suzanne, whoops SUZANNE, lives on Bainbridge I. also in Puget Sound. So yes, an islands in the stream sort of code.
