Now that you mention algebra, I had one semester -- which would have fulfilled the requirement for a diploma -- after the year of plane geometry. Or was it the other way around? I can dig out my report cards (it wasn't until my adulthood that I found my father had kept all of them from 1st grade) and check. Do I care that much? It's 'almost' interesting that these things come back, don't you think?
Yes it is interesting. I was recently going through stuff looking for something, and I have not only all my report cards, but also a baggie of baby teeth. My mother kept everything. I also have a bunch of drawings I did as a child. The first one was of the Mayflower, I think from when I was 5, and it was on the back of a paper where my father had been doing some calculations. It's kind of fun to look back at those drawings, because I had my own unique art style.
Your Mayflower backed by your father's calculations is special to the moon. Having childhood artwork is so very good. I seem to have only two of mine, both cards (construction pa]per and crayons) made in 1st or 2nd grade. It seems that I expressed myself in cards. One is about being mad at mommy because she made me drink [plain] milk, knowing that I didn't like plain milk. The other has something to do with her youngest cousin's wedding and I think it was also cranky for not having been invited? The drawing is a bride in a dress of multi-colored tiers, beautiful to my mind at the time. These would be worth the hunt; they make me laugh on the rare occasion that they surface.
LaMarck? Planaria? Yes, the path your heart took.

Your artwork makes me smile!
