Be like Jane ♥️

Diane Smith's avatar

Reminds me of a clever quote from the recent past.

'In a world full of Donalds, be a Jimmy (Carter)'

Ann Jamieson's avatar

My hero. My favorite President ever. What a good man he was. I cried when he died.

Dr. Richard's avatar

A NUCLEAR ENGINEER.A REAL scientist; the antithesis of Trump or ANYONE in his seditious, ignorant, evil administration. Trump can't even read or balance a checkbook. Some "president"!

Doris Buchmann's avatar

It is a disgrace to call a guy that did not pass 5th grade “SIR” or “MR. PRESIDENT!! The Vocabulary of a 5th. grader should not be ON LIVE TV MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS AND PRETENDING THAT HE HAS ANY SENSE AT ALL, LYING BASTARDS DO NOT COUNT!!!

Dr. Richard's avatar

Spot on! Neither do rapists, terrorists, convicted felons, insurrectionists, pedophiles, sex abusers and criminal politicians who gave been impeached TWICE- just for starters. The Village Idiot is not only a fool but a disgrace to humanity - and he thinks he is OUR CHOSEN EMPEROR. Up his!

Gail T's avatar

Don't believe he was appreciated as much as he deserved until after his presidency. Being a president is not easy. Can't please all the people all the time...

He and Rosalyn actively worked for Habitat for Humanity for years and years... and didn't Carter help oversee at least one or two foreign elections in his retirement, too?

Also, when president he was a strong proponent of preserving our planet before the movement spread and became more accepted

He had the courage of his convictions and lived his beliefs. He was a man deserving of respect for many reasons!

Sandra Stoffel's avatar

I like and will use it. Thanks

Pradnya Sikand's avatar

Thank you Andy for this timely reminder. Jane Goodall was truly a remarkable human being. Your interview with her was one of your best . I often watch it when I need something positive and inspiring to start my day ! ❤️

It's Come To This's avatar

In her youth, Jane Goodall climbed trees to make a nest for herself to sleep in at night, just as the chimpanzees did, knowing leopards can (and do) climb trees at night to get their prey, so determined she was to understand the world they lived in.

The only threat Elon ever faced is the chilling realization that no woman in her right mind wants his sperm.

Annette's avatar

and those that have breed with him are not in their right minds, so he's decided they don't get to come to his "new" planet

It's Come To This's avatar

You couldn't pay me to occupy his planet, not even if you threw in some of his sperm as an added freebie.

Annette's avatar

ewwww... he should be neutered

D ODonnell's avatar

And forced to wear a male chastity belt, even so.

And throw away the key.

Doris Buchmann's avatar

Many of us have tools in kitchen drawers that can take him on, plus the 2025 halfwits so called men!! Neuter them ALL

Ann Jamieson's avatar

ESPECIALLY if you threw in some of his sperm

D ODonnell's avatar

He is sooooo repulsive. Ditto Pete Headset and the totally weird rfk Jr. No upper case for that weirdo. I love the Kennedy family as do all my own family & this bizarre jerk just ruins it for us.

Dr. Richard's avatar

When more-advanced planets see this happening, they will destroy humanity- and justifiably.

D ODonnell's avatar

Well, we will see, A. I just posted a Comment on that part of this discussion.

Sandra Stoffel's avatar

Apparently, he has several children with different mothers. Wants to leave a legacy so populates the World with little Elons. Can we round up all Elons and deport them to South Africa?

Lily's avatar

They're going to grow up just as confused and angry as he is. I doubt any of them will want to have much to do with their biological father.

SUZANNE Marie McAdam's avatar

Unfortunately, they're American citizens....unless

the Gilded One manages to crush that too.

Dr. Richard's avatar

Truly THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL”! The Fourth Reich!

Mary-Jean Miner's avatar

How to explain his many progeny? Oh, yeah, right! Poor things!

steve's avatar

Unless cash is involved.....

Dr. Richard's avatar

That certainly properly classifies the greedy fools he has impregnated and married! JUST LIKE TRUMP’s trashy women!

Stephanie MacLeod's avatar

Jane is on my of all time heroes that, "I want to be when I grow up". I miss the thought that she is not still living among us, providing a balance in her own quiet, kind and intelligent way to the awful, strident, toxic voices. I hope, if she knew me, she would say that I did make a difference in a positive way. Thank you, Andy, for reminding us that her legacy is still in all of us that value her approach to life. And all is not lost. Poor Lindsey Graham-cracker, he was given the potential and gifts to be a great man, and he squandered them all, no redemption for him.

misia.d's avatar

Ha! Lindsey Graham Cracker!!! He hung out with lots of Marshmallows to be sure!

Annette's avatar

<standing ovation> well played, Stephanie!

D ODonnell's avatar

Well-done, ladies!

Andy, BLESS YOU for highlighting Dr. Goodall’s beautiful, intelligent and common sense wisdom! She was an angel on earth who told it like it is and focused on the most important topic of anything: sharing and cherishing our planet, its climate, its biodiversity and its limits. Without a livable planet, ALL this other political, war, social, economic etc. drama is just *noise*. Humans are like a cancer unchecked now, and we’re destroying our “host” - the effects of which we are seeing in real time, but still, trump and republicans ramp up the parasitic drain.

Jane was a gem, and thank you again for keeping the doctor, her good works and her wisdom alive, reminding us of what we see and know but most can’t or won’t face.

Wis's avatar

BE LIKE JANE! Couldn’t have said it better!!

Donna H Kurz's avatar

Yes - that is the true "be best" ♥️

Dr. Richard's avatar

Are you aware that is the feckless phrase of the feckless "first "lady""?Please find another way of expressing your thought; everything about her and her thug of a husband disgusts me.

Donna H Kurz's avatar

that was my point.

John Townsend's avatar

--and not a pain

like the soulless husk

that is Elon Musk!

Lawrence Gottlieb's avatar

More proof positive of Musk's off the charts degeneracy.

What an evil, little schmuck!

Andy Borowitz's avatar

He doesn’t understand that no one wants him to reproduce. One is more than enough.

Jean Jacoby's avatar

Too late. He has more than a dozen spawn at this point (14?), but not all of them even like him. But Elon is free to send those who are willing, to Mars, on one of his SpaceX vehicles to start a colony if he wants. They can corner the best real estate near old river or lakebeds that maybe had water and life 3 billion years ago, and then hang out there in space suits with little radiation detection badges until the next wind storm blows them away.

misia.d's avatar

Great idea, I know of a family that’s interested in real estate that should be on the “first” rocket out because they are so important. They could easily become exportant!

John Townsend's avatar

Dump Trump at the Trump Dump on Mars!

D ODonnell's avatar

“Exportant”- that’s very, very good’

Julie Woodcock's avatar

Air’s too thin to blow anyone anywhere.

Mary F Englebert's avatar

Not just in the "degeneracy" area. He's off the charts in insane, bonkers ideas for which WE have ended up footing all the bills while his fortune grows.

Carla Spackler's avatar

Cyclospora, Cybertruck, coincidence? I think not.

misia.d's avatar

Hopefully the kids are better looking than the cyber truck!

Jan Fabiyi's avatar

Does it not look like a picture a five-year-old might draw of a car?

Annette's avatar

yep . . . or a hearse

misia.d's avatar

Yes and then a 9-year old built the model but he didn’t like it so he never finished!

bitchybitchybitchy's avatar

The cybertruck is such an ugly vehicle. The only thing uglier is a cybertruck wrapped in advertising

Carla Spackler's avatar

I saw one last winter with a FAKENEWS vanity plate. They love to antagonize normal humans.

Dr. Richard's avatar

Nope - those with greedy prig MAGA MAGATS flying Trump flags!

Dr. Richard's avatar

Saw two today — both flying Trump flags. Figures!

Lynne MacIntosh's avatar

I'm thinking it's not likely. Besides being a racist, sociopathic jerk, the guy is ugly.🤢

Susan from OC's avatar

The cybertruck looks like the illegitimate offspring of a DeLorean and a Pontiac Aztek. A friend told me it reminds her of a garbage dumpster. My 9 year old grandson thinks they are "cool". Kids!!

Amber Mollenbeck's avatar

The only positive I find with them is that when I see one on Wednesdays, it immediately triggers a reminder for me to take my garbage bins out for Thursday morning garbage day. Helpful!

Unsafely Anonymous's avatar

And all this has __nothing__ to do with the spike in popularity for the old Spitting Image song "I've never met a nice South African" last year.

No connection with DOGE, completely random coincidence.

Mary Carroll's avatar

One of Musk’s children is a trans! How dare she!! But she’s smart: she hates him

SUZANNE Marie McAdam's avatar

To be fair...As abhorrent as he is as an individual, Star Link

is keeping Ukraine in the game and he, alone, pushed EVs.

He didn't put himself in Doge...Dump did that...with a lot

of Repubs standing around clapping. Derision where

derision's due.

John Townsend's avatar

--and lots of derision to go around......

Mary Carroll's avatar

And let’s not forget that his 2024 election meddling with his satellite gave us Trump for another 4 years.

Lorenzo's avatar

Jane Goodall vs. Elon Musk - humanity's finest vs. humanity's most perverse.

Annette's avatar

my money is on Jane . . . every. time.

Paul's avatar

Is that Dr Goodall pictured with Eric Trump as a child?

Andy Borowitz's avatar

Apologize to that chimp!

Judith Richards's avatar

Yes indeed. Poor chimp being mistaken for a Trump spawn. 🫣☹️😳

Annette's avatar

especially the dum(b) one

Dr. Richard's avatar

…and I think that “Baron” (how royally presumptuous) is no different.

Dr. Richard's avatar

They’re ALL dumb with the possible exception of Ivanka, but she is a crooked, spoiled brat and as seditious and greedy as her father. Eric the “Q tip” and Jr. have combined IQs of a double digit.

Annette's avatar

Ivanka is smart enough to marry The Slender Man. He can't be trusted as far as he can be pole vaulted.

Paul's avatar

as soon as I hit send, I realized i was insulting chimps....

Susan Collins was seen clutching her pearls in shock when she saw my insult to chimps.

Susan Stone's avatar

My feeling exactly. That is the comment I would have made.

Susan from OC's avatar

The chimp is much cuter!

Gjay15's avatar

Shame on you. That “ child “ is lovable and will grow up to be a loving and responsible member of its family and community. Musk however?

Annette's avatar

Muskrat? Nope! He's neither loving or responsible.

John Townsend's avatar

Now, now! That chimp doesn't even have reddish hair!

Marmo's avatar

Paul - That chimp is way more intelligent (and better looking) than Eric Dump or his mush of a father. It might have been the big ears that confused you.

AV's avatar

She was a national treasure. I miss her. 😪

John LeBaron's avatar

On the scale of human decency, Jane Goodall and Elon Musk are at opposite poles. Thanks for this report.

Lawrence Gottlieb's avatar

Musk dreams of a 'Being John Malkovich' world filled with little Musks.

The little man is one diseased specimen.

Sharon P's avatar

all that money but no cure in sight for him

Lawrence Gottlieb's avatar

Society needs a vaccine to protect us FROM him & his ilk.

John Townsend's avatar

--with as many shots as needed!

Octavia Redwood's avatar

Focus on life, people, animals, trees, plants, mountains. oceans, deserts (ok maybe desserts, too) instead of Trump. Of course keep up, but focus on life, not DJT.

Anne Fletcher-Jones's avatar

Heh! Especially the desserts!

Susan Stone's avatar

I would choose the desert (where I live) over desserts any day. Deserts can be wonderful places when you understand them.

Patty Farrington's avatar

I am in envy of your interview and meeting with such a troubadour for action and advocacy around the world. When I read about Roots and Shoots in "The Book of Hope," I was inspired by her ability to connect with young people, to help them appreciate the sheer vast beauty of earth and kickstart the mission to save this planet for posterity. I am in awe still, of the relentless force for good that she became and I am so grateful to you, Andy, for sharing her with us here. In a world of darkness, she's a beacon of hope!

Irna Gadd's avatar

Simply by being himself and promoting his ideas, he’s ruined the planet, imho. One thing’s certain: he’s tried to provide enough people to populate a different planet all by himself. I feel for his many children and the impact he has on their emotional development.

Stephen Brady's avatar

Melon Musk has demonstrated quite convincingly in the past 3 years that he is truly odious. He has done damage on a world scale and truly deserves a Mussolini moment.

misia.d's avatar

Yes, Mussolini had many memorable moments, including at the end.

John Townsend's avatar

Elon Musk is already upside down in his being!

Susan Stone's avatar

No wonder I don't care much for cantaloupes. And, now that I think of it, the flesh of muskmelons is orange, so his association with trump now makes perfect sense.

Sheryl Frankel's avatar

Thank you Andy. She was certainly a gem!

Phil's avatar

Andy you punched me in the face! Woke me yes woke.

Will life ever be good for our children and grandchildren without people fighting for them now?

U b one of those.

Hank Greenspan's avatar

Of course, Musk attributes his own genocidal intentions to others . Not subtle.

Jim Dygert's avatar

When I hear the name Elon Musk my only vision of him is that dirtbag giving his now famous Nazi salute…POS..

Paul Ehrenzeller's avatar

That Nazi salute and this!

During a February 2025 Oval Office visit, Elon Musk's 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, picked his nose and appeared to wipe the remnants on Donald Trump’s iconic Resolute Desk. The boy also whispered to the President and made noises, prompting Trump to swap the desk out for a temporary replacement while it was refinished.

Annette's avatar

I love that little XYZ did that. I hope it truly skeeved tRump out

Paul Ehrenzeller's avatar

What do you think the Musk kid whispered in Trump’s ear? I like to think he said “I picked this for you, you’re welcome!”

Annette's avatar

LOL . . . or maybe "my daddy says you're the boogeyman"

Annette's avatar

with his teenage DOGE rats running around, creating chaos and accomplishing NOTHING good for the American people

Jim Dygert's avatar

This current regime ( I refuse to call it an administration) has accomplished absolutely nothing for the American people and has been detrimental to everyone on this planet…

Annette's avatar

thanks, Jim . . . "regime" does fit this dumpster fire better!

John Townsend's avatar

"Dumpster fire" being, of course, the most accurate!

D ODonnell's avatar

Bravo Jim!

👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼and then some.?
